This minimalistic child`s riding horse get a name “Rocker” and was introduced recently at the “imm cologne” in Germany.

London designer from Doshi Levien about the Rocker: “While observing young children, we found that most things of interest to them are not figurative but everyday objects that are not intended for play! Children find their own imaginative purpose for any object already in the home. This observation prompted us to create a “Rocker” for Richard Lampert that is like a found object, an improvised ride. Moulded seat with solid oak rockers.”

This year`s winner of Red Dot Design Award “Monolith” clock by Negrocobre Design Studio is not only a clock but an art-piece. This block shaped clock with polished glass or plastic surface is powered by batteries. The time is displayed on two sides of the block on an LEG display.  It is not that big as it looks like, it can be placed on any office furniture or a coffee table. Negrocobre designers break the classical idea that time should be specified by only one boundary. The time displayed by Monolith clock moves in more than one dimension.

The practice of temorarily advancing clock during summertime (DTS) has been constantly  criticized. Although, summer time is still reality. Clock shifts though still involves manual adjustments or buttons on many clocks. Milan designer Denis Guidone has come with a simple design idea of a table clock dubbed “Ora (il)Legale” that has regular round shape with a small detail. The base of the clock has two small flat sides, so when you need to shift to summer time (DTS) you just tilt the clock on the side. Denis Guidon`s design is an asymmetrical shaped clock in minimal black and white colours, sublte but still stylish design.
